9/17/25 – Three more stops and then home!  – We have the CCD event, then visit friends in Boise, then a stop in Arkansas to visit family before our flight back to Miami.  It’s winding down but still some more fun.  Not over yet!   Read More

9/8/25 Finally, on to #50!From St Mary and Glacier National Park, we traveled south in Montana and then back north until we crossed into Idaho.   It would be my 50th state!   But more than that, we had some family to visit and beautiful drives to discover.  Come along!  We are almost done with the adventures this year.   Read More

8/26/25 – Heading south! –  Since we left St. Johns, we have traveled mostly west with a few drives a bit north and a bit south.  Now after just over 3 months, we are heading back to the US and need to go south.  But there are things to see and do and friends to visit before we leave Canada!  So hop aboard.  Read More

8/21/25 – Jasper and the Icefields Parkway In the last report, we were leaving Lake Louise and headed to Jasper.  The road between the two is called the Icefields Parkway.  It travels along the glacial valley and has some more surprises!  And great photo ops!  Ready?   Read More

8/20/25 – And on the Canadian Rockies! –  From the west side of Calgary, the Canadian Rocky Mountains begin to rise quickly and majestically!  And there are three towns that are the major attractions for tourists to visit.  In order, you have Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper.  We had plans to explore each one and were very excited about the prospect.  As you might imagine, selecting the right photos would be a challenge.  So, follow along and see what we picked!  Read More

8/16/2025 – Old stuff on the way to the mountains This area of Alberta is noted for dinosaur fossils and early indigenous tribal markings and rituals!  So, before we got to the mountains, we had a few stops to see what all the Hoodoo was about!  Hop aboard and let’s go find out together.  Read More

8/14/25 – From Manitoba to Saskatchewan– Across the southern plains of Canada through the two provinces is an easy drive and mostly flat!  But the fields of color are amazing and there are some real adventures as well!  So come along and we’ll let you know what we learned.  Read More

8/12/2025 – Okay, now across the prairies of southern Canada! – Back on the trail to Manitoba and Saskatchewan, we headed west.  We had been told about how flat and boring it was.  But we found out it was hardly that!  Look and see what we found.  Read More

8/6/2025 – Back to Canada? – Crossing back into Canada from the farmland of northern Minnesota was easy and then a quick 1-hour trip back to the US!  What?!  Sounds interesting?   Read More

8/5/2025 – Couple more stops and back to Canada – From Traverse City, we headed back north and west to the UP, across Wisconsin, on to Minnesota, back to Canada.  Sound like a plan?   Hop aboard.   Read More

07/30/2025 – Back in the good Ole’ USA – Crossing theborder from Canada to the US was easy and actually pretty quick, all things considered!  Now on to a swing across the northern Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota borders to visit some more friends and see some beautiful scenery.   Come ride along!   Read More

07/21/2025 – Goodbye to Ontario We had one more leg left to finish this part of the trip.  From Niagara, we went back through Toronto to visit friends and then west again to cross back into the US.  A few special days to complete a great visit to Quebec and Ontario.  Read More

07/16/2025 – To Toronto and beyond! – Toronto is the big city.  And we have friends to meet in the area.  So, we have some sightseeing and some meetings to get done.  But first a stop in a major Canadian Park.  Read More

07/02/2025 – On to Ontario – We had two more stops after Mt. Tremblant.  Stops in Montreal as the last city for us in Quebec and Ottawa as the first city for us in Ontario (and the national Capitol)!  And a major holiday!   Read More

06/29/25 –More of Quebec – Quebec is a large province.  From Fermont, where we crossed the border with Labrador, to Montreal is over 750 miles.  We had already completed about half of that on the Expedition 51 drive to Baie Comeau.  So now on to Montreal and more of Quebec.  Read More

06/20/25 – Expedition 51 Part 3 – We are finally at the end of the Trans Labrador Highway portion of the Expedition 51 route but still have 350 more miles to go in Quebec.  And there are at least 2 challenging portions of this road that we must cross.  So, get ready.  Fasten your seat belt, and let’s go!   Read More

06/17/25 – The Big Land Part 2 – From Happy Valley – Goose Bay, we have about 300 more miles of the Trans Labrador Highway to cover.  Then we connect with Quebec Hwy 389 for Part 3 and some more excitement!  Come along for part 2 first.  Read More

6/14/25 – The Big Land – Labrador is called The Big Land and is a unique part of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Many people who visit just come across the ferry for a day or two and visit close points of interest.  We are planning to drive the whole Trans Labrador Highway and down to Baie Comeau, QC.  Come along to see this BIG LAND!  Read More

 06/8/25 –The Viking Trail – The road north from Gros Morne takes you up the Great Northern Peninsula and the Viking Trail.  The first landing in the Americas of people from Europe has been documented in this area.  It is also a part of Iceberg Alley where the bergs come down from Greenland.  And this is the crossing point to Labrador.  So, it is a logical place to end our time in Newfoundland.  Come along for the adventure!  Read More

06/5/25 – Back to Gros Morne – Our plan now was to revisit Gros Morne National Park.  So, with one stop planned in between, we left Leading Tickles and headed west.  We were excited about visiting the park again.  Read More

05/30/25 – North shore adventure – We were off again to look for icebergs and whales especially along the north shore of Newfoundland.  From Trinity, we went up to Twillingate, Fogo Island, and Leading Tickles . This one is a little long because we covered a lot of ground!  So come along with us and enjoy!   Read More

05/24/25 – Revisiting from last year – From Avalon, we headed back north to two places we visited last year.  One was like going home and one was for icebergs!  Both turned out great.  Read More

05/20/25 – The Irish Loop – Finally ready, we left St. John’s and headed south to the Avalon Peninsula driving “The Irish Loop”.  The first part retraces Hwy 10 that we drove yesterday and continues to the tip of the peninsula.  We had one place to stop and some other interesting venues to visit later.  One unlike any other on Earth!  Read More

05/17/25 – Back in Newfoundland – Tuesday, up early and with 2 long stops, we made it back to St. John’s.  Got to the RV park the next day to see how everything weathered the Newfoundland winter.  Come along and find out with us!  Read More

05/12/25 – On the road again – As planned last fall, we are returning to St. John’s, NL with further plans to head west (can’t go any further east!) to the mountains.  But first there are more sites to see in Newfoundland and Labrador.  Read more

10/13/24 – On the way home – We left Little Bay and literally headed home with 2 stops along the way.  Everything was going as planned and we were ready to close out this part of the trip.  Jiggity Jig.  Read more

10/7/2024 – Come From Away   – Everyone knows of Gander from 9/11/2001 and the ensuing Broadway Musical.  But we found that Gander is a lot more than one week in history.  Let us tell you what we found.  Read more

10/05/24 – The Rock and many more! – Newfoundland is lovingly called The Rock.  We found what we think might be the reason and then some.  Maybe it should be called The Rocks.  Find out why.  Read more

9/29/24 – Gros Morne and beyond  –  We joined up with our new friends for a couple of days in Gros Morne National Park.  Lots of things to see and do.  Read more

9/28/24 – The last Province – We left Nova Scotia and headed to Newfoundland for the final leg of this trip.  For me, this has always seemed a bit of a mystery and we are very excited about visiting the province and discovering what surprises await.  Let’s go see!   Read more

9/21/14 – Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail – As a final trip in Nova Scotia, we decided to go north to Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the famous Cabot Trial.  Come along and see the sights!  Read more

9/17/24 – Around the tip to Halifax –  We decided to take the coast road around the Bay of Fundy to the tip of Nova Scotia and then up to Halifax.  Interesting, educational, and easy trip.  Read more

9/11/24 – Now for some Fun-dy! – We spent 3 days near Truro, Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy to see the large tidal changes.  And get a little wet!   Read more

9/9/24 – Now on to PEI!  We crammed a lot into our 2 days in Shediac, and now it was time to check out another Province.  We had 6 days planned for the small island.  Read more

9/8/24 – Two days in Shediac – We had plans to spend some extra time on Prince Edward Island but first had a quick stop scheduled in Shediac, NB.  And see what the surprise turned out to be!  Read more

8/29/24 – Oh!  Canada!  –  We passed onto Canada on the 8/23 and crossed over to the southern shore of the St. Lawrence Seaway planning to drive the whole Gaspe peninsula.  Read more

8/21/24-One more state! – We crossed into Maine and headed north.  This will be the last state we see for some time. But we plan to see a lot of it and meet up with some great friends and family.  Come along!   Read more

8/15/24 – Home again?! – Crossing from Vermont to New Hampshire was going to be a bit nostalgic for Gail as she had lived here for a year, and this was her first time back.  It was her turn to show me around.  Read more

7/20/24 – Stop in New Jersey before heading to NYC!  We knew that we had to tackle traffic in NYC to get out to Long Island but first another visit with sailing friends.  Read more

7/15/24 – Family and Friends – Next leg was a week visiting family in North Carolina, family and friends in Maryland, and friends Pennsylvania starting on the 4th of July!   Read more

7/4/24 – The Blue Ridge Parkway – 4 days driving slowly through the forests and mountains of the Parkway.

6/26/24 – Up to the Blue Ridge Parkway –   We have friends at the beginning and about 1/3 of the way up the parkway so we decided visit them and to drive the whole thing!   Read more

6/24/24 – Up to the mountains –Heading north again, we are going back to the mountains of northern Georgia.  Read more

6/22/24 – On to the east coast – We headed east to Jekyll Island, GA because we had heard so much about it, and then up the coast to St Helena Island, SC to visit sailing friends.  Read more

6/18/24 – Family and Friends – From the northern to the southern suburbs of Atlanta, we visited family and friends and got a quick repair job done as well!   And we got “ducked”!   Read more
