05/10/26 – Now for year #3

To catch up, we left “The Boat” in Boise at an indoor, heated storage facility while Moonshadow (the Jeep) stayed at a friend’s house in Nampa.  We are leaving Miami this week on a 6:00 am flight to arrive in Boise fairly early with time to get settled in before things start moving the next morning.  First thing scheduled is a 7:30 am appointment at the Mercedes dealer in Boise to get the RV serviced and checked out.  Then on to the KOA in Meridian where we were last year.

After a few days of visiting with our friends, unpacking, grocery shopping, topping off the diesel (Ugh!!) and making final plans, we will be off.

Although we are still making some reservations and checking a few other details. To summarize, the trip can be divided into 6 legs.

  1. Head west into Oregon, then south to San Francisco to visit friends.
  2. Drive up Hwy 101 Pacific Coast Highway from there to the northwestern tip of Washington state
  3. Cross into Canada and Vancouver Island by ferry and discover more of northern British Colombia
  4. Head back south from Dawson Creek, BC to Edmonton, AB and Saskatoon, SK.
  5. Cross back into the US along the Montana border and add Wyoming to our list of states. We might also make into the Dakotas. (Gail still needs to add these to her list.)
  6. Visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks for 2 weeks before reaching Boise again for the winter

Here is the route for the 1st and 2nd leg of the trip
